Florida Carriage Museum

The Florida Carriage Museum consists of four galleries and 40,000 square feet of display space.
The European gallery traces the roots of our American culture. It features an Armbruster Full Dress Chariot as its centerpiece. The American Gallery brings to life the impact the horse and carriage had on the growth and development of our country.
Early automobiles and brightly-colored fire carriages take center stage in the New Vehicle Room. In the South Gallery there is a display of Brewster carriages, carousel horses, and a Pair and Tandem Turnout featuring exquisitely harnessed model horses.

Whether a collector of carriages or typical tourist, one will be amazed and awed by this comprehensive carriage collection and display of appointments. From a simple, scarlet road cart to the most elaborate golden dress chariot, everything in the collection will intrigue and delight the visitor.
The Museum features educational kiosks, story boards, a theater, hands-on room and 250-seat lecture hall. A breed barn, contiguous to the Museum, features live horses from around the world. All combine to educate students and visitors about the social history of the horse and the importance of the carriage in developing civilizations.

Guests may tour the grounds in horse-drawn carriages or golf carts. They may picnic under ancestral oaks, or enjoy lunch in the Tea Room.

The resort is a “Bed and Barn” where guests vacation with or without horses in the temperate climate of Central Florida. It features 24 well-appointed residences and 12 barns with adjacent paddocks. Visitors from around the world come to train, visit the museum, and participate in conferences, retreats and clinics.

The resort offers single, pair, tandem, and four-in-hand driving lessons; driving workshops; and week-long retreats using their experienced carriage driving horses.
