As the business and entertainment center of India, many visitors to Mumbai are looking for lavish accommodations that can fulfill their need to work and play. Several hotels in the area are able to do that.
Mumbai (formerly Bombay) is the capital of Marahashtra, a state in India. It is a city that is responsible for most of India's trade and entertainment. Because of its importance as a business hub for India, there have been a number of hotels established in Mumbai to cater to traveling businessmen as well as tourists.

One of the most popular hotels in the area is the Taj President Hotel, which is located in the middle of the business district of Mumbai. The Taj President has 292 rooms including 20 executive suites. The Standard or Sea View Rooms come with a 2-line telephone equipped with international direct dialing, a personal safe, channel music, a satellite TV and wireless Internet access. Guests can choose whether their standard rooms will overlook the city or the sea.

The Executive Rooms of the Taj President Hotel are situated higher in the building to give a better view of Mumbai's natural deep harbor and cityscape. Aside from the features of the standard room, these include a fax machine and complimentary breakfast. The Executive Suites provide visitors with a separate living and dining area as well as a minibar and a second TV. The Taj President also has special rooms designed for women called the Lady Executive Rooms, which pampers the guest with extra luxuries such as a pink satin bathrobe and special toiletries.

The Taj President also has 5 banquet rooms with in-house lighting styles that can be adjusted to suit the mood of a business meeting, party or any private function. The presidential Ballroom may hold 525 to 600 seats for an auditorium setting or 50 to 800 people for a party.

One hotel that is located very near the airport is the InterContinental the Grand Mumbai. It is also near the business hub of Mumbai, however tourists who want to see points of attraction will not be disappointed as there are some quite near the hotel. Guests can easily travel to cultural spots such as the Siddhivanayak Temple, Haji Ali Dargah and Mount Mary Church as well as wonders of nature like the Juhu Beach, Sanjay Gandhi National Park and Elephanta Caves.

The Grand Mumbai also offers several restaurants within its premises, all which offer different cuisine. 24/7 is an all day diner while Trendz offers western fusion. Woks on the other hand are a Chinese specialty restaurant, whereas Baluchi offers Indian food from all over the peninsula. The Beluga Bar serves liquor and has an exclusive cigar lounge while Sutra is a Bollywood lounge bar.

Another five star hotel that is easily accessible is Le Royal Meridien Mumbai, which is located in the Andheri section of Mumbai. It is 1 kilometer away from the International Airport, 7 KM away from the Domestic Airport and 4 KM from the Andheri Railway Station. The hotel has 165 deluxe rooms and 6 suites, which provide comfort with its colonial style. Le Royal Meridien Mumbai also has the exclusive Royal Club on its premises, which offers dining, and entertainment to members. There are also leisure and fitness facilities within the premises such as a golf course, a fitness facility, beauty salon, outdoor pool, hot tub, barbershop and a library.

Some other five-star hotels in Mumbai are the Eastern International, the Hotel Grand Hyatt, Maratha Sheraton, Hotel resort Mumbai, Oberoi Mumbai, Leela Mumbai and Hotel Retreat Mumbai.
