What month is best to travel to Orlando, FL?
While there never is a bad time to visit the “Happiest Place on Earth” and other Orlando Florida attractions, there are definitely certain times of the year that are preferable in terms of weather and crowd control.
During the fall months, October in Central Florida is much like a pleasant summer day “Up North.” Daytime temperatures can still get into the 80s without the roasting temperatures accompanied by brief but powerful thunderstorms that are the hallmarks of Florida’s summer weather. There is also a diminished chance that tropical systems will force a change in travel plans, and since most kids are in school around the country, the crowds are a lot lighter. Add to that a number of seasonal special events like Mickey’s not so Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom, Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival, and Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights, and there are plenty of reasons to travel to Orlando in October.
After the holiday season—one of the peak travel periods in Orlando—the weather in Orlando warms up to pleasant spring temperatures in February—while the rest of the country is still blanketed in snow. Universal Studios hosts their annual Mardi Gras festival, with concerts from some of the biggest musical acts of the past and present. Much like October in Orlando, the February crowds are lighter, making it easier to enjoy some of the biggest thrill rides at Walt Disney World, Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure and SeaWorld multiple times.
