This is a skier's paradise. After a day on the slopes the people who visit this location often head into the sybaritic hot tub to relax and socialize. In addition the evenings are filled with social events that encourage mingling with good food, catered by a gourmet chef, and a very friendly atmosphere.

Island of Crete, Greece

It's single travelers only at this family owned and operated hotel. Since you know everyone else there is single too, it's a great location to meet new people, and enjoy breathtaking views of the sea, countryside, and mountains. Spend time on the beach, or wander through the local area enjoying local cuisine and nightlife.

Breckenridge has a wide variety of summer activities both at the resort and around town. The beautiful weather and scenery coupled with tons of stuff to do, makes Breck and excellent summer vacation destination. Located about 9 miles south of Interstate 70 on the other side of Frisco and Lake Dillon,

Breckenridge is a great ski town with lots of character and the most amenities and attractions of any town in Summit County. Below is a guide to help you manage you time while in Breck. It will allow you to think about all of the possible activities at your disposal and then maybe you can make a mental itinerary so you are more prepared upon arrival.

There are almost unlimited options for outdoor recreation in the area surrounding Breckenridge. Mountain biking is one of the most popular summertime activities. Breckenridge Ski Resort offers a large amount of trails. The trails are designed to satisfy the needs of users of all skill levels.

The terrain can also be accessed by lift via the Colorado Superchair on Peak 8. Peak 8 also has trails maps and bike rentals available. The Colorado Superchair is the highest ski lift in North America and it takes you almost to the true summit of the peak. Hikers and visitors that want to ride up and enjoy the fantastic views and then ride back to town can also use it.

There are also hundreds of lakes, streams, and rivers in the area that make it a fantastic place for fly fisherman to spend their time. Most of these bodies of water are in the surrounding areas of Arapahoe National Forest and several wilderness areas.

All of these protected areas along the ten-mile mountain range also provide backcountry users with tones of trails for hiking, backpacking, and horseback riding. People with an interest in horseback riding can also organize a ride through the stables on Peak 9. This stable offers a 90-minute ride on the "Breckenridge Trail" and daily breakfast rides.

The ski area does a great job at providing all sorts of activities that are fun for families. Most of these activities appeal to kids and some to the rest of their family as well.

The Superslide is a famous activity at Breck that is very exciting. It is a large slide, which you ride down on sleds, similar to the luge. Sleds hold one adult and a can also hold a small child. There are multiple courses including a giant slalom with multiple dips.

There is also Superputt, a twisty, challenging, mini-golf course with great views of the mountains. Amaze'n Breckenridge is another way for kids to get some hands-on fun by trying to negotiate this life size maze. The maze has two levels and participants get the extra challenge of trying to beat the clock.

Next, the Sky Fly Power Trampoline is a trampoline with attitude. Users are harnessed in and attached to bungee cords. This allows them to bounce, launch, and flip up to 25 feet in the air. Breck also has six Zip Lines. These allow you to fly over the mountain terrain at different distances and difficulty levels. The Spin Cycle allows you to be inside a gyroscope and your body spins in multiple directions at high speeds.

There is also the inflatable Bounce House, home to bouncing and screaming kids at all times. There is even a Children's Center that provides snacks, lunch, supervision, and childcare for infants and toddlers.

The town of Breckenridge has several other activities to choose from in the area. The Breckenridge and Keystone Golf Clubs provide a total of 72 holes of quality golf. The three different courses provide variety ranging from Jack Nicklaus designed to Scottish links-style.

Whitewater rafting is also available on the Arkansas River in Buena Vista. The river is about an hour away and companies will provide transport along with a trip and lunch. Trip options range form class II rapids to class V. This will depend on what you want, participant's ages, conditions, and experience levels.

Breckenridge Recreation Center provides a comprehensive recreation center and ice rink facilities. This can be a great place to spend some time on a bad weather day, after-hours, or just when in the mood for some good old-fashioned exercise.

Breckenridge also has plenty of periodic cultural events. There is a small arts district on Washington Avenue and South Ridge St. This area even has a theatre with performances and a film festival each year.

Breckenridge Music Festival happens each year at Riverwalk Center on the weekends from Jun until August. Summit Historical Tours is another option. They provide experienced tour guides to educate visitors about one of the states largest historical districts. There is also the Edwin Carter Museum, which is one of the oldest museums in the state.

Breckenridge is an awesome place to come in the summer because of the huge amount and variety of activities. There is truly something for everyone and it is easy to take advantage because town is much quieter and more relaxing in the summer months. The Colorado Mountains are spectacular and exciting. But Colorado is a big state, and sometimes mountain roads are not what you expect. Knowing where to spend your time, and how much time you need for various activities, can be the difference between an exciting vacation, and a vacation that is just memorable for the wrong reasons. Here's how you can make your Colorado mountain vacation memorable and fun.

Focus on one region of the Colorado Mountains, and centrally locate where you stay. Seeing the most popular sites is a great way to get your feet on the ground. And there's nothing wrong with just being a tourist. But limiting your area will also allow you to discover what's beyond the most popular attractions. Extra time to go back to that shop you passed by on your way to Pikes Peak. An extra half day to hike that trail the waitress told you about. An extra hour to just watch the sunset and chat.

But where do you start? Here are some of the most diverse areas in Colorado that can give you all the mountains you can take, and without driving all over the state. But be warned, each of these areas has so much to offer you will certainly want to come back!

- Pikes Peak, Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods, and Manitou Springs - Estes Park, Boulder, and Rocky Mountain National Park - Durango, Mesa Verde National Park, and the Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad - Vail, Breckenridge and Aspen

Pick one of these areas, look at it on a map, and do a little research. Now, once you have an area narrowed down, find your lodging. Focus on finding the most interesting and comfortable lodging for your stay. Here are some ideas corresponding to each of the above areas:

In the Pikes Peak Area, Manitou Springs is a smaller mountain town, yet centrally located to everything. It's quaint, it's a resort town, and you're in the mountains. But, you are also close enough to Colorado Springs with all the advantages of a larger city.

Estes Park is surely a mountain town without any doubt. It's right near the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, so you can't get much more mountainous than that. But don't overlook Boulder. You can still get up to Rocky Mountain National Park in about 50 minutes, yet you also have access to some of best lower mountains in Colorado. And, Boulder is a vibrant cosmopolitan city that is world know for outdoor activities.

The ski area towns of Vail, Breckenridge, and Aspen are a different matter. They comprise the most spread out area on our list. The best thing to do is to pick one based on your personality. Vail and Aspen are more up scale, Breckenridge is more laid back. During the summer, condo rates are pretty good, as with most ski areas in the summer. You may also want to consider Glenwood Springs. It has one of the largest hot springs pools in the world, and is not very far from Aspen.

And finally, the town of Durango is certainly a great central location for Mesa Verde National Park and all the attractions of southwestern Colorado. With a population of only about 15,000, it happens to be the big city in the area.

Colorado mountain vacations are always special. So go ahead and pick one of these most treasured areas in the Colorado mountains. And this time, try planning your vacation in a more confined area, and leave more time for discovery.

Vail is such a popular tourist destination just about everything in town is based on a booking system! You'll need to book your flights from wherever you are to get to Vail. There isn't an airport right in Vail, instead planes fly to Eagle County airport. Many major cities in the US have direct flights to this airport. You can catch a shuttle from the airport to Vail or you can make a booking for a rental car.

You'll want to make Vail reservations to book your hotel or wherever you're staying. You can usually find them from a couple hundred dollars to a couple thousand dollars per night, depending on your tastes in luxury as well as your needs and the size of group you're traveling with. Remember, the larger the group you travel with, the earlier you'll want to make your booking so that you can make sure you'll find a place to stay.

You'll also want to make Vail reservations for dinner while you're there for at least one evening. There are the restaurants you'd expect but there is also some really great world class dining with an extensive wine list...cap off a day of skiing with a booking at a table for two at a classy restaurant.

Another place to make Vail reservations is for a tee-off time at one of the local golf courses if you are traveling during the spring, summer, or fall months. While Vail is not famous for their golfing, they do have great golfing...golfing is to Vail what that secret fishing hole is to a fishermen!

If you go in the winter and have never skied before, you'll want to make a reservation at a ski school so they can teach you how to strap on your skis and blaze down the slopes. If you don't own skis, you can make a booking to rent a pair while you're there.

Vail Colorado is THE place to go for a great ski vacation. No matter what level of skier you are, all you need is a passion for the slopes and a little time to spend in this beautiful city.

The secret to enjoying a great vacation in Vail is to anticipate your needs and make your Vail reservations as early as possible. Be sure to ask if there is an "early booking" discount available. But not everything needs reservations: you can take the free shuttle at any time to get around town. If you have a vehicle, you can head out of town less than two hours down the road to ski Snowmass Mountain in either Snowmass or Aspen, or you can spend time in Antler Colorado as well. (If you don't book a spot in Vail on time, you may be able to find a Snowmass inn or Antler motel that you can stay at. It's just down the road!).

Shopping is another activity that you'll enjoy that won't require a reservation. And if you're a single person in search of great nightlife, you shouldn't have any reservations about hitting the clubs in Vail!
