I'm always interested in bringing readers articles on places to go in the United States where kids, teens & their parents can have a good time. Let's look at the best places for kids' travel based upon our family friendly assessment of the area airport, attractions and accommodations.

Boston

* What to see: The Go Boston Card allows families to select from around 50 attractions at a discount price
* Where to stay: for the money, it's hard to go wrong with a Boston Holiday Inn, but the Hyatt Regency Cambridge offers a special rate for an additional room for kids and in the Back Bay, the Colonnade Hotel Boston offers a family weekend package.

Dallas/Fort Worth

* Airport: With a trio of interactive play areas and "one of the most bewitching airport rides, Skylink," connecting them, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is a children's wonderland...
* What to see: The Dallas Symphony for Kids is a unique place to visit for creative children. Six Flags, one of the state's largest attractions, is just 20 minutes outside Dallas.
* Where to stay: the Dallas Omni Hotel offers the Omni Sensational Kids program that caters to the hotel's youngest guests. If you're going to the zoo, the Hyatt Regency Dallas is within 3 miles.


Washington DC

* Airport: For just 50 cents and 15 minutes from the Airport, you can find the National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center.
* What to see: The Smithsonian, Museum of Natural History, the DC Zoo... there are many, many fun and educational places to visit in Washington DC
* Where to stay: Like other Omni Hotels, the Omni Shoreham Hotel offers a goodie bag to children at check-in.


Las Vegas

* Airport: The airport reflects the new attitude of the city itself: you need to provide a place for both kids and parents to play.
* What to see: Where do we start? You could see The Blue Man Group. Visit Planet Hollywood or Madame Tussauds wax museum. Travel just a bit for a tour of the Hoover Dam or Grand Canyon. Vegas is definitely focused on making itself a destination for adults and children alike.
* Where to stay: for teens and older children, a stay at the Venetian Hotel might be fun, but most kids would rather stay at the Excalibur Hotel (which looks like a castle) or at the Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas for a good time.


Nashville

* Airport: Have a long layover? The Nashville airport features three stages for performances...
* What to see: We recommend families visit the Nashville Zoo, the Nashville Children's Theatre and maybe even the Chist Church Indoor Playground. For a fun place to eat, try Bobbie's Dairy Dip.
* Where to stay: it's hard to ignore all the great reviews about the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center.


Orlando

* Airport: The airport greets visitors with a 3,000-gallon saltwater tank featuring over 100 aquatic creatures.
* What to see: Visitors can start with Sea World, Busch Gardens, Disney World and Universal Studios but the list goes on and on...
* Where to stay: any of the Disney World Resorts will be great fun, and you can often find special deals on tickets to the theme park when purchased in conjunction with your room. The Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort is worth mentioning - their "KidSuites" have themes, movies and supervision upon request.

Holidays with children can often by difficult to plan. You want to find that perfect vacation location for your kids that is kid friendly and fun for the entire family. When trying to find this perfect location for your holidays with children, then you need to keep several things in mind. Consider planning for kids to be as important as detailed map of Spain for your vacation to Spain. If you miss anything then it can be quite troublesome for your whole vacation.

1. Kids would list the most wanted vacation location as Walt Disney World. This resort has something for everyone, no matter what age. Your children can enjoy the many kid friendly activities, restaurants, and experiences ad they spend time with Mickey Mouse, the Princesses, and other characters. There are four different theme parks that your family can choose from and two water parks, so that you can find the right activities for your family. You will be amazed at how much there is to do at this resort. The only problem will be fitting everything in! 2. If your holidays with children are much more fun when relaxing on the beach, then you will want to consider the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. This beautiful resort has many different activities for every age of child. It is the ultimate in kid friendly with the many different pools, snorkeling, golfing, and other activities. They even have a camp for children that are younger than 12 years old that can allow them to learn more about sea life through activities and visits to the aquarium on site. For you parents, there are many activities as well, including a comedy club, dance clubs and shopping. No matter what age your family is, there are sure to be activities that everyone will enjoy.

3. If snow is more your family's desired vacation spot, then you will want to think about a vacation to Snowbird Resort in Utah. As far as your kids, they can ski free at the resort, but there are other activities that you can do, too. Families can take part in activities like luging, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, ice skating, snowboarding, and more. You will never run out of snow-oriented activities. Kid friendly ski camps and schools are available for your kids and there is childcare if you want to slip off to the spa or fitness club.

4. If you and your family enjoy adventure, then you will want to think about visiting the Treesort that is located in Takilma, Oregon. This is a wonderful trip for those Swiss Family Robinson lovers, because it features 18 different tree houses for you and your family to spend the night in. There are also platforms, forts, wooden swings, and swinging bridges for your family's fun and enjoyment. There is also a 160-foot zip line, a fresh water swimming pool, and lots of scenery to enjoy.

5. If you prefer to take your kids on a trip where they can learn as well, then you will want to try out Williamsburg, Virginia. Kingsmill Resort has many kid friendly activities that you can enjoy, from golf and tennis to a marine and more. There is even a Kids Camp that will allow your children to swim in a kid friendly environment and they can spend time in the game room. Busch Gardens is not very far away and you can visit Williamsburg, too. For the perfect mix of knowledge and fun, Williamsburg has it all.

It is easier than you think to find Pet friendly hotels and pet friendly motels when traveling with your pets. Although many hotel establishments still don't allow pets of any kind in their rooms, there are many that do. Most of the time there will be no extra charge for accommodating your family pet, but sometimes you will be asked to pay a small fee usually ranging anywhere from 5 dollars to 50 dollars. Pet hotels and pet friendly motels are extremely convenient for travelers who do not want to go through the hassle of leaving their pet to the care of friends, family or expensive boarding businesses.

When making the reservations you should indicate the breed of your dog, as some hotels have restrictions on the size and type. Another question to ask, would be if you were allowed to leave your pet unattended in the room. Be sure you understand the hotel's pet policy so there is no misunderstanding when you get there. If you know the policies both you and your pet will be comfortable.

When you reserve a room at pet friendly hotels or motels, always ask what the policies are regarding pets, and whether there is a deposit. All hotel and motel pet friendly establishments will allow seeing-eye or service dogs no matter what their pet policies are.

Sometimes you can be charged a small fee, and other times you may be charged a deposit, which would be returned to you if your pet causes no damage. If you hate leaving your pets at a boarding shelter while you are traveling, take some time to find pet friendly hotels or motels along your route so that your beloved family pet members can stay with you.

Some pet hotels will require that you keep the animal in a cage in your room, and most dog friendly hotels insist that your canine is kept on a leash at all times when it is outside of your room. Most people consider their pet as part of the family, therefore their pet goes with them on vacation. The thought of their beloved pet cooped up while they are on vacation is just unfathomable.

In addition to the refundable pet fee some pet friendly places may mention that they only allow "Well-behaved" pets, so teach your pet a few lessons in manners before you decide to take it on your holiday. The luxury hotels like the Ritz Carlton and Onyx will treat your pet like a king. Your pet will be groomed and pampered just like you will be. So, go ahead and enjoy a lovely vacation with your family pet.

Try to keep to your pets schedule as faithfully as possible. Pack the pet's favorite food and toys so he will feel comfortable. Just like packing for yourself, pack any medications or vitamins that your pet will need. Be sure to have your pet's veterinary's number on hand just in case there is an emergency. If you are in another town, your vet maybe able to recommend the services of a vet in the town you are visiting.

Make sure you have the pet's identification which includes a contact number, the pets name and an immunization tag if applicable. Never leave your pet outside alone. He could be stolen or antagonized enough that he will bite. Always keep the pet hydrated, especially if you are in a hot atmosphere.

Use common sense when traveling with a pet. And, above all, be polite regarding other guests at the establishment.
