Wilderness Adventure - Thailand
Thailand has always held a special place in my heart. I first travelled there in 1991, a wide eyed kid wet behind the ears with a bucket shop one way ticket to Bangkok. My grand plans of a short beach break before heading down to the east coast of Australia joining the 1000's of Pommie pilgrims earning a right of passage didn't exactly go to plan. I left Thailand eleven months later to return home penniless, emancipated and full of great stories, which my friends soon got bored with.
I returned a few times mainly to Bangkok and Koh Samui happy to be back in the land of smiles but feeling slightly disappointed at all the changes. The old story of development being good for the locals but not good for my sense of adventure. That didn't deter me from joining the Imaginative Travellers Wilderness Adventure two years ago.
Arriving in Bangkok this time was different. I had a hotel booked so no lugging my pack in Bangkok's suffocating mixture of exhaust fumes, heat and humidity looking for a clean bed. I had a group to meet too, this was also good, eating Pad Thai on your own looking for a fellow traveller to strike a conversation with can be hard work. There were 10 of us, a mix of Poms, Aussies, a Canadian, an American and a South African. We all met for dinner and shortly after my first Thai beer I knew this would be a fun trip
Bangkok to me means food and shopping and the best place to find both is the Chata Chuk weekend market. I headed there with belly empty and wallet full destined to reverse the two. The market is huge, really huge, 35 acres of cheap goodies huge and sells everything from furniture to genuine fake designer clothes. The street food is fantastic but remember the Thai's like it hot. I left my shopping with the hotel to keep safe as I would be returning there once I finished the trip.
Off to Chiang Mai on the overnight train. I like travelling like this, sleeping while moving makes sense to me and the train is clean, functional, safe and fine. I think Chiang Mai is the perfect place to escape hectic Bangkok. It's a peaceful, happy place and that reflects in the locals. Sight seeing will take you to the Wat Pratat Doi Suthep temple - stunning and golden on a sunny day. The next stage of the trip was trekking in the surrounding jungle, I decided I needed a massage before we set off.
A trek in the hills of Northern Thailand is a chance to escape everyday life and clear your head. The going is not too difficult for someone with fairly good fitness although if it rains the mud can be tricky. I was enjoying my own head space when we arrived at the first village of wooden homes, pecking chickens and lots of smiles, basic but I couldn't think of anywhere else I would rather have been. Chan, our guide, was a local from a neighbouring village and before long he had us divided amongst our village hosts before the sun set and got too difficult for us city people to do anything without electric light. That night, with the noise of the surrounding jungle lying on a mattress roll on a bamboo floor, was maybe the most peaceful night's sleep I have ever had.
The next day's trek was shorter and we covered ground quicker, maybe we were getting used to the trekking but I think it was the excitement of the elephant ride to come that afternoon. Lunch was delicious but we were too busy watching the elephants wash in the river to notice. Elephants are brilliant creatures and being on one journeying deeper into the jungle is a fantastic experience.
The next morning Chan had us up early helping him and the village men build our rafts to take us down river to civilization. It is all part of the experience helping the guys and by helping I mean staying out of their way while they expertly craft our rafts. A serene float down to the nearest small town where our bus was waiting to take us to a hot shower and another massage.
We left Chiang Mai and headed back to Bangkok where we broke the journey up to the south with an over night stay in the city of angels.
I had heard a few good things about Khoa Sok national park, not too popular with tourists or backpackers alike due it not having a major bus stop. To get there you need to stop the bus by the 3rd banyan tree after 17th stream near the big hill and you will find a bakkie waiting to take you into the park. I'm glad we had a tour leader. The first night we slept with the birds in tree houses the second and third we stayed in raft houses on a man made dam. It is a truly beautiful area and a few of us spent the days swimming in waterfalls, flooded caves, kayaking and hiking and some of just sat back and took it all in.
How to finish this Thailand trip? On the beach of course. The islands around Krabi are what we visualize when we think of a Thai beach and they do not disappoint. The Thai's have a word called sabai, loosely translated it means an inner happiness and contentment. I woke one afternoon from a napping on the beach and understood exactly what sabai means.

Gone are the days when high-risk people were not eligible for any insurance programs. The state insurance pool is a program by which just about anyone can get the benefits of insurance plans. No wonder then that these plans are also called as guaranteed access programs.
People who have been termed as medically uninsurable by the medical program providers need not despair any more. The state insurance pool is a sturdy safety net for even people who fall into this category. The term medically uninsurable used to mean the people who were denied medical insurances because their health conditions was so bad that it would require lots of medical attention, and at times all that medical help would not help the person's health to improve. However, the irony of this is, people with preexisting health conditions are in the direst need of health insurances, but these very same people were the ones who were denied the benefits of health insurances in the past. The COBRA benefit was there for such people (COBRA is the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985); but these finances would generally get exhausted in long treatments, and the policyholders were not in a position to meet the steep demand of the insurance providers.
Rules of the state insurance pools differ from one state to another. There is a board of directors within each state, which work within the ambit of a nonprofit alliance within the state. The members of this board are taken from various insurance departments, such as the insurance industry, customers of individual insurance, members of state insurance departments, etc. The main responsibilities of these board of members is to work in collaboration with the mainstream insurance providers, and to check the applications they receive, select participants of their programs, collect their premiums, receive and pay out the claims and to answer all sorts of questions pertaining to the eligibility to the state insurance pool program.
The coverage provided is almost of the same quantum as in the 80-20 major medicals and outpatient coverage. Even then, some members could be denied the benefits of the plan because of potentialities of being uninsurable. However, the situation could change within a year. After that, the insurance can no longer be denied, so it becomes as much as a guarantee. So this plan is a boon for the people who were hitherto considered uninsurable. But it must be borne in mind that this policy is not a free policy. Actually, due to the risky health conditions of the participants they accept, the premiums on the state insurance pool policies could actually be higher than those on the mainstream policies. There is indeed a cap on the amount that the states can charge, but even so the prices are higher than those of competitive healthcare providers within each state. Generally speaking, this cap limit is about 125 to 150 per cent of the available rate in the market. The cap wouldn't change, but the rate on the premiums could be a bit flexible, depending on factors such as the participant's age, health condition and domicile address.
While applying it is necessary to attach the copies of the rejection from the other healthcare providers. Qualifications to get state insurance pool benefits include being a native of the particular state in which the application is being filed. If an insurance provider rejects an applicant, then that applicant would be considered HIPAA eligible if he/she provides evidence of recent eighteen months or more of uninterrupted healthcare coverage. The policy also extends to include minors within the family.
In the year 2003, thirty three of the fifty US states were already providing benefits of the state insurance pools to their citizens. Twelve states have made alternative arrangements. Gone are the days when high-risk people were not eligible for any insurance programs. The state insurance pool is a program by which just about anyone can get the benefits of insurance plans. No wonder then that these plans are also called as guaranteed access programs.
People who have been termed as medically uninsurable by the medical program providers need not despair any more. The state insurance pool is a sturdy safety net for even people who fall into this category. The term medically uninsurable used to mean the people who were denied medical insurances because their health conditions was so bad that it would require lots of medical attention, and at times all that medical help would not help the person's health to improve. However, the irony of this is, people with preexisting health conditions are in the direst need of health insurances, but these very same people were the ones who were denied the benefits of health insurances in the past. The COBRA benefit was there for such people (COBRA is the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985); but these finances would generally get exhausted in long treatments, and the policyholders were not in a position to meet the steep demand of the insurance providers.
Rules of the state insurance pools differ from one state to another. There is a board of directors within each state, which work within the ambit of a nonprofit alliance within the state. The members of this board are taken from various insurance departments, such as the insurance industry, customers of individual insurance, members of state insurance departments, etc. The main responsibilities of these board of members is to work in collaboration with the mainstream insurance providers, and to check the applications they receive, select participants of their programs, collect their premiums, receive and pay out the claims and to answer all sorts of questions pertaining to the eligibility to the state insurance pool program.
The coverage provided is almost of the same quantum as in the 80-20 major medicals and outpatient coverage. Even then, some members could be denied the benefits of the plan because of potentialities of being uninsurable. However, the situation could change within a year. After that, the insurance can no longer be denied, so it becomes as much as a guarantee. So this plan is a boon for the people who were hitherto considered uninsurable. But it must be borne in mind that this policy is not a free policy. Actually, due to the risky health conditions of the participants they accept, the premiums on the state insurance pool policies could actually be higher than those on the mainstream policies. There is indeed a cap on the amount that the states can charge, but even so the prices are higher than those of competitive healthcare providers within each state. Generally speaking, this cap limit is about 125 to 150 per cent of the available rate in the market. The cap wouldn't change, but the rate on the premiums could be a bit flexible, depending on factors such as the participant's age, health condition and domicile address.
While applying it is necessary to attach the copies of the rejection from the other healthcare providers. Qualifications to get state insurance pool benefits include being a native of the particular state in which the application is being filed. If an insurance provider rejects an applicant, then that applicant would be considered HIPAA eligible if he/she provides evidence of recent eighteen months or more of uninterrupted healthcare coverage. The policy also extends to include minors within the family.
In the year 2003, thirty three of the fifty US states were already providing benefits of the state insurance pools to their citizens. Twelve states have made alternative arrangements. Thursday May 3, 2007 was recognized as America's national day of prayer. Even as Christians gathered to petition God for many things, members of congress met to debate and finally vote on hate crimes bill HR 1592. The bill squeezed by and was voted into law with 237 yeas and 180 nays.
The fight is not over because for all of the individuals and organizations who wrote their representatives to ask that they vote against the bill now the same effort must be repeated to defeat the Senate version of the bill referred to as the Matthew Shepard Bill S. 1105.
The Whitehouse top advisors have asked President Bush to veto the bills and he has bravely and graciously committed himself to do just that. We can be thankful that because many Christians were not even aware that this bill even existed much less that it actually made it to the floor of congress, our President knows what this bill actually means.
In a statement issued the morning of May 4, 2007 a communiqué from the executive offices of the White House said...
"The Administration favors strong criminal penalties for violent crime, including crime based on personal characteristics, such as race, color, religion, or national origin. However, the administration believes that H.R. 1592 is unnecessary and constitutionally questionable. If H.R. 1592 were presented to the President, his senior advisors would recommend that he veto the bill...
"H.R. 1592 prohibits willfully causing or attempting to cause bodily injury to any person based on the victim's race color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability. The Administration notes that would leave other classes of (such as the elderly, members of the military, police officers, and victims of prior crimes) without similar special status. The Administration believes that all violent crimes are unacceptable, regardless of the victims, and should be punished firmly..."
Both the house and senate versions of the bill are a direct affront to freedom of speech and freedom of religion and if by some remote chance they should become a permanent part of the law they will surely undergo challenges in the Supreme Court about their obviously suspect constitutionality.
The Hate Crimes Bill is a means of squashing the rights of preachers, gospel witnesses, youth workers, journalists, and every ordinary citizen to quote or explain to others what the Bible says about homosexuality.
Some of the events that have transpired during the fight against this twisted bill are close to amazing. One scene that is hard to imagine is that Rev Lou Sheldon and CEO Andrea Lafferty of the Traditional Values Coalition were found standing alone on the steps of the capitol during the house proceedings on Thursday. The absence of other Christians and organizations speaks to the lazy hazy days of summer that has lulled the church in America to a deep Laodicean sleep.
I got letters from several organizations and individuals that thanked me for a previous article I wrote entitled "Christians Thrown to the Lions - Not in Rome but in America." Amazingly some of them stated that they didn't even know the law ever existed. If believers are not aware of a law that will limit their ability to freely use and refer to their own Bibles, what are they aware of?
Jesus said "A house divided against it self cannot stand" and that is the single most important reason I have endeavored not to blatantly criticize the Christian church. It is hard at this juncture not to scathe the church for its sleepiness and distraction and it seems only fair to say that they need this figurative boot in the butt before more is lost. It has become apparent that the recent conclusions of the Barna Group that say Christians are as equally influenced by media trends as are non-believers is more than just another disconcerting statistical report. It is rather and indictment. Fighting error is good but submitting to ignorance seems to cancel the best efforts of the ecclesia (church).
It is estimated that between all faiths in America there are 177 million believers. Conversely there are about a quarter of a million gay rights activists who support bills like HR 1592 and S. 1105. When an army of Christians that outnumber their foes seven times over doesn't know they are about to get squashed it seems safe to say someone is asleep at the wheel or perhaps, asleep in the church.
Don't be ignorant of this, the fourteenth amendment allows full protection of the law to citizens of the United States including gays. Bills HR 1592 and S. 1105 only serve to police what we may say or think about gay practices and no more. If America must resort to thought policing then everything this country stands for has not just started crumbling but is passing in a cloud of wind driven dust.

American is enjoying the high times of a burgeoning stock market, prosperity and artistic freedoms not limited by anything but the imagination. But there is another high time approaching. At its peak these high times will end with a sleeping nation and a dozing church being brought to its knees by changes they never saw coming. God forbid that the unbelievers and scoffers are found standing around the wreckage wagging their heads and saying, "they never knew what hit them." The Apostle Paul said it best. "And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we (first) believed." Romans 13:11

Last week I discussed the financing of the purchase of a residential lot for development with a woman who, with her husband, wanted to build a custom home. As always happens when discussing financing, the conversation turned to interest rates and loan structures. When I described the going rate for a fully indexed land loan on a residential lot, she darn nearly fainted!
She spluttered: "Wha ... How could rates possibly be so high?!? My home loan is at 6% and you are telling me that a lender wants over 10% for a land loan? That is ridiculous!"
Well, not really.
I understood her confusion, but she was comparing apples to oranges. From an investor's standpoint, land is a great investment for a number of reasons: "They" are not making any more of it (except possibly in Dubai), you can put your hands on it (it is "real"), no one can pick it up and take it away without a mounting a stupendous effort, and eventually it will be worth more than you paid for it (in most cases). However, when we look at land from a lender's perspective, it is leaves a lot to be desired.
When making a loan, the lender's primary objective is to get paid all of its interest and principal. The lender relies on the borrower to fulfill his obligations under the note, but asks for some "insurance." That insurance comes in the form of a lien on a real property, called "securing" the loan, and is the lender's last resort in the event the borrower can't pay off his loan. The loan is made to the borrower, not the property. It is secured by the property in the event the borrower defaults on the loan. So a lender looks for the best security that it can find to ensure that it will be paid back.
Commercial real estate makes great security for a lender because it produces income that can make the loan payments until the property is sold, in the event the borrower defaults. Homes are also great security because there is usually an active market in which to sell one and a borrower is likely to do everything he can to keep his primary residence. Even owner-occupied business property is a good bet for a combination of the reasons above.
Not so, land.
Land, for all of its potential value, just sits there. No one lives on it, no one works on it, tumbleweeds roll across it, and unless it is used as a parking lot or a swap meet, it produces no income. Add to these challenges the reality that the process for converting land into income producing or residential property takes a great deal of effort, specialized knowledge, and time. Most lenders really do not like these characteristics in their security and thus, don't lend on land.
As a result, when faced with taking land as security for a note, those lenders who do make loans on land do a couple of things to mitigate their risk. The first is that they usually reduce the loan to value significantly. The more equity you have in the land, the bigger the discount they can offer to a buyer when selling it and the safer they feel in making the loan. Note that this was not the case in my opening example. That particular lender had a specialized program that would have loaned up to 90% of the value of a finished lot, but it was for residential, owner-occupied development.
The second thing a lender does is increase its rate of return to match the perceived risk of disposing of the property in the event of a default. If a lender gets 12% to 14% on its money for a land loan, it receives its invested dollars faster, even though we call them "interest." This reduces the lender's exposure faster and provides a risk-adjusted return when the loan is paid off.
So the next time you contemplate financing some land, just remember that your lender will be looking at it from a vastly different set of circumstances than you. Done that way, you probably won't cough loudly when he quotes you the rate!

You may find it difficult to believe that no definite answer will come from anyone. True, your family or friends are not accompanying you in that cruise ship but you become one of a temporary community there. You get many companions there who are also to board to relax in a holiday mood. Are we sure we have included everyone we need in that cruising community? No, since you cannot spare time for cooking or washing dishes during the cruise you must include the ship staff in that. Surely, during your interactions on the ship you cannot ignore the common rules of decency.
Cruises smile if travelers smile It is quite normal for you to tip the restaurant waiters or hotel maids. It is not absurd if you meet them on the cruise and you need not change habits only because you are in the midst of a sea or ocean. No doubt, you are on the cruise after making full payment, still think that if you were in the position of the staff, would you not have welcome the tip as goodwill token? No denying the truth that they do more than just serve food or clean your rooms since smiles and warm behavior adds value to your cruise and some appreciation from you they may expect.
Ships are machines but not those on board Fortunately enough, the fellow passengers are not to be tipped! But every cruiser can play a role to make the general atmosphere on the cruise pleasant enough. Cutting in line or gossiping during a theatrical performance is examples of nagging behavior while there may be other forms of less glaring defiant attitude that you should not resort to. For example, why not stick to dining dress code that does not offend you? If for any reason you have to choose casual dress you can go to the ship's informal restaurant or room service help you can take. Remember, some co-passengers may feel hurt at your dress outside the code and none but you can relieve them somehow or other.
Vacation is long awaited: make it golden Although it is important to follow guideline, the importance of relaxation should not be lost sight of. Even if you do not suffer from agoraphobia you may find it difficult to adjust yourself on a boat with hundreds others. You can gauge the uneasiness of the other cruisers to whom you are one of the other people as they are to you. Friendly words and polite smiles to each other can help all enjoy the holidays in a relaxed mood.

Too often, people think they have to spend a lot of money to have a successful family vacation, going to places like a major theme park or exotic locations. Even if you can't get a week's vacation, take a day and spend it in the local park or a beach. * Try to get familiar with metric conversions or at least bring along a metric conversion table with you so you can understand what measurements actually mean as most of the world outside the US actually uses the metric system for measurement and this can be very confusing for Americans traveling abroad if they aren't prepared.

* White sneakers often brand you as a tourist in foreign countries, so try to use medium brown to black shoes that are also comfortable for the trip, as they tend to blend in with almost any kind of foreign attire. No trip to the Black Hills is complete without experiencing a chuck wagon supper and show. * Make sure that you bring enough luggages to handle any new items that you may buy while on the trip.
If you give some advance thought to packing your luggage, it can go a long way toward making your trip easier and more trouble-free, and hopefully you can make good use of our travel packing tips for great family vacations. Wherever you decide on the family vacation, whether it's an airline ticket or a hotel room, never take the first price you're quoted. All and all, Winthrop is a great place to take the family on vacation.
All and all, the Black Hills is a great choice for any family vacation. If thrill rides are not your cup of tea the Adventure Dome still has a lot to offer. Indian Head Resort began operation as a campground back in 1917; over a period of time the owners added some cottages, and then expanded to where now they offer a hundred spacious rooms (some with whirlpool baths), TV with HBO access, saunas, an exercise room, and spectacular views from every window.

One of the highlights of any wedding is the impressive and delicious wedding cake. Wedding cake costs can be a bit of a shock, but they have a wide range.
Your wedding cake will be one of the first things people look at as they enter your reception site. There will be pictures of it, and you may even recreate it for anniversaries to come. The centerpiece of your wedding can be costly, yet is extremely important. There are several ways to get a wedding cake on a budget, and even more ways to go all out. Wedding cake costs vary, but you can have the perfect cake on any budget!
If your budget is tight, go for a do it yourself attitude. Before your big day, take several cake decorating classes. The cost is small compared to the hourly cost you will pay for the manual labor of someone else decorating your cake! Buy a few different size pans, depending on the size and shape you want your cake to be. Bake your own cakes from scratch or from a mix the day before the wedding. Enlist the help of friends and family in decorating your cake. For that smooth wedding cake look, buy pre-made fondant at your local craft store or bakery. Fresh or silk flowers will also add a cheap yet elegant look to your wedding cake on a budget. For a low cost, your cake will often taste better than a professionally designed one!
If budget is no matter for you, your options are endless. There are cakes that range anywhere from $8 per serving to over $30 per serving. This cost often includes a tasting and design session for you and your family. This ensures that you will pick the perfect selection for your tastebuds. If you are having your reception at a hotel, their restaurants will oftentimes have a wide selection of gourmet wedding cakes to choose from. For a truly unique cake, contact local bakeries. Almost every large city around the country will have one or two renowned bakeries, famous for their wedding cakes. Before you go to your tasting and design appointment, be sure you know exactly what you are looking for. Many custom bakeries are just that- custom. This means that they will not have a book of cakes for you to look through and choose from. You will come up with your own creative design.
If you are on a moderate budget and can afford to spend some amount on your cake, there are viable options for you, too. Bakeries that mass produce cakes can often make your beautiful wedding cake at a fraction of the cost that custom bakeries will charge you. Give the bakery plenty of notice to avoid any expediting fees. Instead of having the baker decorate the cake by hand, supple them with fresh or silk flowers to adorn the cake. Since cake decorating is often charged for by the hour, placing flowers will take only minutes. This can have a dramatic impact on wedding cake cost.

The Bahamas is home to several resorts, a few of which also have the so-called "all-inclusive" vacations.
Before going into the resorts themselves I think the term "all-inclusive" should be defined because most people think this means one thing, when in reality it means something else all together.
All-inclusive is a term to mean that three major meals and some soft-drinks during the day, are included in the hotel charge. It does NOT automatically mean that everything there is to do at the resort is free of charge (though some things are).
European is a term to describe hotels where you are paying for the hotel room, but drinks and meals are extra. It does NOT automatically mean that other amenities/ "things to do" will also come with a charge.
DO NOT make the mistake of automatically assuming that one of the above is automatically going to be less expensive or have more things to do than a hotel/resort that operates under a different one.
There are numerous pros and cons, and VAST differences from one hotel/resort to the next.
The major resorts are: Atlantis Paradise Island *European Plan* The Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas hardly needs an introduction. With its 2,300+ guest rooms divided amongst 3 tower sections, this 4 star, family friendly resort offers more to do than many major theme parks.
This is one of the most popular destinations for first-timers to the Bahamas for a very good reason.
However, due to its size, you can't really "get away" at this resort.
Breezes Bahamas *All Inclusive* Here, beside the crystal clear waters, you can listen to the gentle call of the sea bird and feel your worries drift away with the tide. At night, a short stroll along the beach takes you to the excitement of Nassau's glittering casino.
This is one of the few resorts where "all-inclusive" almost really does mean that. Food and drinks whenever you want them are included and there is A LOT to do right here in the resort. Somehow, this resort does a FANTASTIC job of never seeming crowed or over busy.
While there isn't as much to do as at the Atlantis, this may be one of my favorite resorts for a short getaway.
Comfort Suites Paradise Island *European Plan* Comfort Suites Paradise Island Bahamas is located on Paradise Island in the Bahamas adjacent to the Atlantis Resort. 5 minutes from Paradise Island International Airport. 10 minutes from downtown Nassau.
If you're on a budget, and money is tight but you still want a vacation in the Bahamas, this "resort" is the ticket. While it is little more than a glorified hotel with virtually zero on-site amenities, the price of this one is right. Further, it is close to just about everything and they do an admirable job of keeping the feeling still up-scale enough to make it a worthy vacation destination.
Nassau Beach Hotel *European Plan* A 3 star budget hotel located amidst the hustle and bustle of the other Cable Beach facilities, Nassau Beach Hotel owns 750 feet of beachfront property and offers complimentary watersports to guests, who can also sign up to take advantage of the amenities of its companion hotels the Wyndham Nassau Resort and Crystal Palace Casino, which it neighbors.
This is another hotel for the budget conscious, and many people prefer this hotel over the Comfort Suites thanks to the fact that this hotel is RIGHT on the beach. I will say that I'm partial to the Comfort Suites, but if you're going to the Bahamas to spend most of your time relaxing on the beach then this is the hotel for you.
Pelican Bay *European Plan* Nestled at water's edge, the 90-room Pelican Bay at Lucaya is a Caribbean hotel with a distinct European architecture and a spectacular location on Lucaya Bay. For our more discerning guests, we offer The Pelican Bay Suites.
When it comes to the budget 3 star resorts, those that are Paradise Island, or within the city of Nassau itself, are typically just a little better in my opinion. This one however is an ENORMOUS exception. Part of its appeal is that it isn't on the main island where almost every "newbie" to the Bahamas goes. It is well maintained, in expensive, and thanks to being on the Grand Bahama island isn't quite as crowded. The hotel is well maintained, and one of my personal favorites for the short getaway when I'm not planning on spending much.
RIU Paradise Island *All Inclusive* Located right next door to the expansive Atlantis resort on Paradise Island, RIU offers an endless variety of activities for every traveler. Watersports on the fabulous beach, daily activities for adults six days a week, and nightly entertainment are offered.
Seriously, for the money, I don't think this one is worth it. I know lots of people however that absolutely love this resort ... I don't. It isn't that there's anything "wrong"; it's just that for the money you can do better.
Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort & Spa Quote or Book Online Here *All Inclusive* Voted the Caribbean's Leading Resort, Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort & Spa is the ultimate getaway for travelers. Absolutely nothing compares to this Four Diamond All Inclusive resort. Nestled on Nassau's famed Cable Beach.
If you've got the money, this is THE location to go to (and honestly, if you're going to RIU you can probably afford this). Easily my single most favorite resort in the Bahamas PERIOD. If you're going to be taking a week or more in the Bahamas and can afford a little extra, then I highly recommend this over th much more crowded Atlatis.
Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach *All Inclusive* Among the many amenities, the property offers two delicious restaurants, three bars, a disco, an invigorating activities program, a kid's club, and gymnasium. Often referred to as vacation paradise,
Some of the best golfing in the Bahamas can be had right here at this resort. I've only stayed once and it was pleasurable, but my time actually IN this hotel was quite brief so unfortunately I can't say any more about it.
Wyndham Nassau Resort Quote or Book Online Here *European Plan* This 3 star resort on the banks of Cable Beach features a Las Vegas style casino, a 75-yard swimming lagoon and 200 yards of private crystal sand beachfront. Along with its own amenities, guests staying at the Wyndham Nassau Resort can enjoy the comforts of its neighboring resort, the Nassau Beach Hotel.
Little more than a glorified Wyndham you can stay in anywhere else in the states. Its one saving grace is some fantastic activities for kids.
The bottom line: I do want to point out a couple of things real quick. First, there are other smaller hotels that are in quite a large number of ways BETTER than these that you can stay in for less money. There are also beach cabanas you can stay in (think small beach cottage) for about the same price as some of the more pricey resorts.
If you haven't been very many times to the Bahamas, then these popular resorts/hotels are definitely the places to stay, and which one you choose should be determined by your budget and planned activities.
If you have plenty of money for your vacation, and if you have not been to the Bahamas often, then the Atlantis, Sandals Royal are the places I most recommend.
If you've got a budget and plan to spend time out and around town in Bahamas, then go for the Comfort Suites.
If you're on a budget and you plan on spending most of your time at the beach, then the Nassau Beach Hotel is for you.
However, if you've been to the Bahamas more than three or four times and want to stay away from Paradise, then shoot for Pelican Bay (no matter what your budget).
Those are my recommendations anyway.

China boasts of twenty four cultural and five natural relics inscribed on the World Heritage List. Apart from this record, there are still fifty eight relics on the tentative list of the UNESCO World Heritage list to be officially added to China's cultural treasures. This record has in turn led to the rapid boost of China's tourism contributing to its economic growth. Almost every city in China has one or more sightseeing to visit and if you don't plan your itinerary ahead, you might just wander through some cities without seeing the most important attractions making your trip to China incomplete. Beijing is usually the first city to visit. Because of its significance in the historical development of China, it has a number of sightseeing which is not to be missed during your short visit here. They include The Great Wall, the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Tiananmen Square, The Summer Palace, The Ming Tombs and the traditional Hutong. All of these attractions can be visited in three days. Xian would definitely be your next stop after Beijing. Spending two days in Xian allows you to discover the past of China since it is believed by many to be the birthplace of ancient civilization. The two major attractions to see in Xian are the Terracotta Army Warriors and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. These Xian attractions played significant roles during the Chinese revolution. From Xian, you can fly to Guilin and Yangshuo where you can spend 2 days cruising the Li River and exploring the Reed Flute caves and the Elephant Trunk hills. The few days you spend in Guilin renews your spirit with its breathtaking beauty. After the rejuvenating experience from the land of Guilin, you can spend the next five to six days in the beautiful province of Yunnan. Kunming, the spring city of Yunnan is known to be the most peaceful and laid back environment very much inclined to foreign tourists. With a wonderful landscape, more sightseeings and a favorable climate, it is no wonder why tourists flock to this part of China to spend more days there. The major highlights of Yunnan province include the Shilin Stone Forest, Tiger Leaping Gorge, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and Erhai Lake. And finally, the last two days can be spent shopping and wandering around the cosmopolitan streets of Shanghai. Shanghai is one of the oldest cities in China which has developed into a fast bustling metropolis. Yuyuan garden, The Jade Buddha temple, Shanghai Bund and the French Concession are major places of interest in Shanghai. There are also a number of shopping malls and markets to buy assorted bags and shoes at reasonable prices. Five cities and twenty attractions in twelve days could just be the best way to enjoy your China travel adventure.

When it comes to set sail you will find that there is a lot of fun that that you can have on a boat of luxury. You will find that there are small exotic ports that you can go for and you will be able to choose where you go and when you go. You will want to follow some of the following guidelines, because it can be hard to have the perfect vacation while sailing a boat.
First, you will need to decide where your direction of destination is and how long you plan to be gone. For those who have a steady life, voyage is something that you may not want to do, but there are many ports and islands off the coast of America that you can travel to and still be able to enjoy the customs that you are use to. You will find that there are many locations that you can to as well. You can go up or down the ocean coast and still have a great time. From the moment the buzzing alarm clock jolts us out of a sound sleep, most of us whiz through the day under stressful conditions. Finally, after everyone else has gone to bed, curling up on the couch with a pint of ice cream seems to be the best way to unwind. Yet even when we know in our minds that 'comfort foods' won't solve our problems, many of us still find ourselves overeating when we're under stress. There are reasons for this and ways you can resist the urge to binge.
Responding to Stress
Why does feeling stressed cause us to overeat? For one, eating is an effective way to temporarily forget about our problems. When we focus on food, we escape from our problems, at least for a little while. We've probably learned from past situations that food enables us to do this. And so eating distracts us during times of stress, and it feels good. Think about it, how many times have you run out of the office to grab some candy when you're having trouble tackling a problem at work, or meeting a deadline?
There are physiological explanations as to why we feel calmer when we eat. As blood flows from the brain to the stomach for digestion, we start to feel at ease, and ultimately relaxed.
When we gorge ourselves with food, we escape in a somewhat 'unconscious' way. Binging on very large amounts of carbohydrates produces a 'sugar high,' which can result in a 'numb' feeling, taking us away from what we really feel. In addition, the release of cortisol from the adrenal glands into the bloodstream during stressful times causes levels of serotonin, a hormone responsible for relaxed and content feelings, to decrease. Theories based on animal studies suggest that decreased levels of serotonin causes increased cravings for carbohydrate-rich foods, and once carbohydrate-rich foods are consumed, feelings of relaxation and contentedness resume.
Immediate Solutions to Prevent Eating in Response to Stress So what can you do when you feel the urge to binge? Well, there are lots of different things to do! Here are 20 activities you can do instead of grabbing those cookies or chips when you feel an overwhelming desire to eat. Before you try these suggestions, however, make a deal with yourself-that is, if you wish to have a specific food, you can have it, but only after you've done three things on the list below.

As caffeine can further stimulate the central nervous system, thereby intensifying the stress response, it's best to avoid caffeinated beverages, such as coffee and colas. In addition, alcohol intake should be minimized, as it can increase appetite and decrease control over eating behavior. Exercise!
Research shows that exercise can help to reduce stress. It can help us to 'vent' negative emotions, and it helps to boost our endorphins, or 'feel-good' hormones, ultimately improving our mood.
